Ring in the New Year


This tutorial was written by me, Lori, on Dec. 6, 2009.
And it was written for those who should already have a basic knowledge of working with PSP. I used Paint Shop Pro XI. Do not copy this tutorial and post it through any group or claim it as your own. Please share a text link only. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is strictly coincidental.

Supplies needed
Tube(s) of choice, I used the art of Ted Hammond, you must purchase a license found here.
FTU Scrapkit by Bluey of BlueDream Designs called "Happy New Year" and can be found here.
Template #290 by Missy from Divine Intentionz which can be found here.
Hands toasting image: You can get here.


Font of choice (I used Hooked on Booze)
Plugins: Eye Candy 4000 Impact, Xero

Please remember to stop and save often.
Add drop shadow of choice as you go. Refer to my example as needed

Let's Rock this Tutorial!!

Open the template in PSP, using your shortcut keys on your keyboard (SHIFT+D) duplicate the template as a new image. Close the original. .

Go to Circle, Selections-All-float-defloat. Layers-Add new raster layer, copy and paste paper4 into selection. Selections-None.

Go to Circle2, Selections-All-float-defloat. Layers-Add new raster layer and paste the same paper (paper4) into selection. Selections-None.

Go to RightCircle1, Selections-All-float-defloat-modify-expand by 1. Layers-Add new raster layer, flood fill with White. Go to Adjust-Add Noise, Settings: Uniform, 60% Monochrome. Go to Selections-Modify-Contract by 7, hit delete button on keyboard. Arrange above RightCircle2. Delete Original layer. Repeat steps for LeftCircle1

Go to RightCircle2, Selections-All-float-defloat. Layers-Add new raster layer, flood fill with #b1b1b1. Go to Adjust-Add Noise, Settings: Uniform, 25% Monochrome. Delete Original layer. Repeat steps for LeftCircle2.

Make heart layer active, open paper1, resize by % you see in blue bar to make it 100%, copy and paste as new layer. Go back to heart layer, Go to Selections-Modify-Contract by 7, Selections-Invert, go to the paper layer you just pasted and hit delete key on keyboard name this layer 'heart1'. Go back to Original heart layer, Selections-Invert. hit delete key on keyboard. Go to Selections-All-Float-Defloat. Add new raster layer, flood fill with White, Go to Adjust-Add Noise, Settings: Uniform, 60% Monochrome. Selections-None. Delete original layer. Move this above the heart1 layer. Delete orginal heart layer.

Go to Glitter Kissable layer, Selections-All-float-defloat-modify-expand by 1. Layers-Add new raster layer, flood fill with White. Go to Adjust-Add Noise, Settings: Uniform, 60% Monochrome, name this layer 'Kissable1'. Go to original Kissable layer, Selections-All-Float-Defloat. Add new raster layer, flood fill with Black, Rename this Kissable2. Go to Kissable1 layer hit delete key on keyboard, arrange above Kissable2. Select None. Delete both original kissable layers.

Go to smallheart1 layer, Selections-All-float-defloat, Add new raster layer, flood fill with White. Go to Adjust-Add Noise, Settings: Uniform, 60% Monochrome. Do this for Smallheart2 layer.

Open the toast art supplied, copy, paste as new layer and resize. Arrange below the circle frame on the left, duplicate layer and mirror.

Open flower2 from kit, copy paste as new layer and arrange as top layer to the left, duplicte layer and mirror.

Paste tube of choice, arrange to liking, Duplicate layer, go to original tube layer, Effects-PhotoEffects-Time machine-I used 1839. Go to the copied layer Effects~~>Plug Ins~~>Xero~~>Porcelain using these Settings: Softness: 50 Strength: 128 Brightness: 128 Red Channel: 0 Green Channel: 0 Blue Channel: 255. Set the visibility to 55%.

Add, Copyright info ~ license and save!
